Youth Impact History

Ethiopia fell under communist rule from 1974 to 1992, with civil war and famine tearing the country apart. Abraham Fiseha and Tekle Gebreselassie were two Ethiopian friends who lived in the U.S. and Canada while working for faith-based humanitarian organizations that helped the poor globally.

Meklit History

Since its inception in 2013, the Meklit Centre has structured and expanded its services to assist 16 children between the ages of 3 to 14 and 13 mothers. The children receive holistic care including nutritional, educational, and medical support and, above all, abundant love. The centre also provides training programs to empower the mothers.

Growing Communities

To date, hundreds of children have been supported by Ethiopian Impact – establishing relationships with Jesus, receiving basic physical needs and education, and learning how to serve others. Many of these children grow up and return to help the current students in the program by mentoring and growing the community.
